Banana Republic Trench Cape

San Francisco Street Style

It’s no secret that I absolutely love Banana Republic pants. I’ve shared many of my favorites in the past (here, here, here, + here), and this pair of navy Sloan pants are equally amazing. Just before our most recent trip to San Francisco a couple weekends ago, I found out that the forecast called for unexpectedly cool temps in the Bay Area. Thankfully, I had already been eyeing this Banana Republic trench cape online, so I knew that it was going to be joining me for the weekend. I am so glad it did! I have always found that lightweight khaki jackets make for the perfect layer during transitional weather. Plus, the button and belted closure helps keep the cape even more secure. It definitely fits more like a jacket than a poncho, and I’ve already begun planning outfits around this piece for fall in Chicago.

The BR Sloan pant has more of a tailored fit and normally hits at the ankle. I tend to prefer a cropped look when it comes to pants (à la Audrey), so I went with the shorter inseam. They also make a tall length for those who are more vertically blessed! BR is so smart to make this version with a touch of stretch for all day wearability – they’re so comfy! Best of all, the Banana Republic Sloan pant is made in so many colors and print. I mean, how cute is this sailor style with the gold buttons?!
