Kennebunkport has been on a top destination on my domestic travel list for many years. From friends to family, and fellow bloggers like Kit Graham and Meg Hall, I’ve heard wonderful things about the food, people, shopping, and of course – seafood. I mean, who doesn’t love a fresh, delicious lobster roll?!

Therefore, when planning our final summer vacation, Kennebunkport was an easy choice! The best part is that it is in close proximity to several other locations that we wanted to visit (more details on those destinations soon!).

I was thrilled to partner with LARK Hotels to stay at their magnificent property, Captain Fairfield Inn. Ideally situated only blocks from downtown, Captain Fairfield Inn was the perfect place for us to stay. First, the innkeepers were INCREDIBLE – thank you Marrianne and Rodolpho for an amazing stay! They were attentive to our needs, and their energy is contagious.

To give you some background, Captain Fairfield Inn was the very first hotel by Lark, and a large portrait of the real “Captain Fairfield” hangs in the entryway. The story goes that he originally purchased the property as a wedding gift (nice guy, right)? They’ve kept the original wood floors and modernized the rest of the property.

We stayed in Room #1, and I can’t even put into words how beautiful it was! Beyond the elegantly appointed décor and cleanliness (like…super clean), the room felt as if we were walking into our second home. The ambiance is comfortable, casual and yet modern and sleek. The bathroom was HUGE, and there was also a private terrace – perfect for enjoying a glass of wine and reading a good book.

The breakfast is also included, and there are so many options to choose from – pancakes, scones, egg dishes, fruit, and more. The extra amenities are also fantastic – you can borrow vineyard vines tote bags with beach towels, beach chairs, and they even give you a parking pass for one day for Goose Rocks Beach (highly recommended).

Captain Fairfield Inn is also centrally located to everything. We will certainly stay there again!

Special thanks to LARK Hotels for partnering on this post; all opinions expressed are my own. Sponsorships like these help make Style Charade possible.
