Day two in the Dominican Republic at the Playa Grande Beach Club, and I am in vacation heaven! I travel a lot for work and for the blog, so vacations are serious business. It takes months to decide where to go. We went back and forth between five destinations, but we finally settled on this property since it felt the most “us.”

Playa Grande Beach Club is located on the North Coast of the Dominican Republic. You fly into Puerto Plata, and then it’s a quick, scenic hourlong drive (refreshments included – pop open the Presidente cervezas, por favor)! Side note – I took Spanish for six years, and I can’t remember a thing. Sigh. Has that happened to you? At least I remember “Donde esta el bano?” Essential, of course.

Once you arrive, the magical beach and lush wilderness melts all your cares away. The main lobby is breathtaking (more photos to come), and the pool is positively perfect. The resort is the best mix of everything we love when traveling – a more boutique feel, delicious food, spectacular design, and great service. I really can’t say enough wonderful things about our experience thus far.

Anne, one of the owners, is also visiting the resort this week, and she was incredibly kind to give us a tour of several of the bungalows. There are six one-bedrooms and three three-bedrooms on the property, and it’s nearly impossible to pick a favorite! One of the bungalows features an enclosed gazebo (so cute)! From the pink details and printed pillows, to the cute bar cart and stunning tile, nearly every inch of the space feels like an Instagram-worthy capture!

For day two, I decided to wear two separate outfits (one for the morning, and one for night). The morning look is from MISA Los Angeles, one of my favorite brands for warm weather. Their tassel earrings are a MUST (I seriously wish I had them in every color)! The green + pink lace midi dress is one of my favorite dresses on the trip – the pastel hues (and price) had me at hello!

Stay tuned for additional looks from the trip! I’ll also be posting a resort guide at the end of our time here, and also creating a beach shop with all of my favorite pieces. Lastly, be sure to follow our travels on Instagram with the hashtag #TravelCharades.
