Six Independent Jewelry Brands You Need to Know

Jennifer Lake Jewelry

Growing up, my mother never owned expensive jewelry. In fact, I’m pretty sure the only diamond she ever owned was her engagement ring. Frankly, diamonds never mattered to her. As they say, like mother like daughter, and I’ve adopted the same philosophy. Overly expensive gems are just not for me. I’m more Baublebar not Bulgari, Kendra not Cartier. Generally, I prefer attainable pieces that I can wear on repeat. As such, I’m always on the hunt for independent jewelry brands.

In fact, Bob got the memo early on in the relationship, and he doesn’t gift me jewelry. It’s not because he doesn’t want to or isn’t thoughtful- he just knows I don’t care for it! In fact, 99.9% of my jewelry is either costume or fashion. On top of it, I have the immense talent of losing jewelry, especially one earring at a time. Call it my special talent. Haha!

Independent Jewelry Brands

Rest assured I still love wearing jewelry. Lately, I’ve had the pleasure of being introduced to several phenomenal independent jewelry brands that are on their way to becoming household names. Several are!

Let me clear, most of these brand are quite established. However, I truly believe they all deserve the spotlight and more attention. Therefore, I wanted to take a moment to introduce six brands you need to know (in no particular order)!

Nicola Bathie

Kicking things off with the lovely Nicola Bathie, who’s developed the most gorgeous line of delicate accessories. My go-to category are her earrings, which have this incredible balance of hints of vintage glam with a slight modern flair. I genuinely want every single pair that she creates and sells! Moreover, the majority of her earrings retail under $200.

The Tiny Tassel

Over the summer, I was introduced to The Tiny Tassel, an incredible Charleston-based lifestyle brand by founder, Mimi Striplin. What originally started as a handmade tassel jewelry line has evolved into a party accessory, fashion, and jewelry brand.

Her colorful selections of earrings are unmatched, and I love the whimsical nature of the styles. Start with her tassel earrings and then move to the curated collection. From pineapples to flamingos, Mimi adds a dose of fun into her offerings at every turn.

T. Marie Designs

Last week, I received this pair in the mail from the brand. My draw dropped the minute I opened the box. Every single detail is perfect! Additionally, I love this pink pair and this posh pastel creation. Above all, T. Marie’s earrings are all under $100. Love that!

Loren Hope

Where do I start? Loren Hope is easily one of my all-time favorite brands (not even just jewelry). We had the chance to meet and visit with in Newport), and she’s as wonderful and one-of-a-kind like the jewelry and accessories that she creates. Be sure to take a tour of her studio, and get to know her and her team. You’ll find her collection completely irresistible, and there’s something for everyone.

Vivian Drew

Meet Vivian Drew, a gorgeously high quality line of earrings and bracelets. The designer, Hayley, named the brand after her two daughters Vivi and Drew. I love the attention and care that she puts into each and every piece.

Von Bloom

Often, I’ll get a DM from a brand that’s looking for exposure on the blog or social media channels. 9/10, I tend to pass because it’s not a good fit. In the case of Von Bloom, I was immediately enthralled. My favorite style is their Floral earrings, which come in a variety of colors.

In Closing

Alright, those are my five emerging jewelry brands to have on your radar right now! I’m confident you’ll love getting to know each brand’s thoughtful, unique, and beautiful lines. All five feature reasonable price points, and I think they make a perfect gift for you or a loved one.
