Louis Vuitton Takes Over Chicago’s West Loop

When one of the world’s largest fashion houses invites you to a party, you say “yes.” A little while back, my inbox chimed with the details of the new Louis Vuitton Chicago pop up store in the West Loop. This temporary residence is a celebration of Virgil Abloh’s fall-winter men’s collection for Louis Vuitton (his second for the brand). Moreover, the space houses a number of Chicago-exclusive items – all of which were created in a bold orange hue. The Friday night gathering was the perfect mix of local journalists, artists, and creatives from around the city. This eclectic space will be open through July 7th and is located at 1100 West Randolph.

The opening of the Louis Vuitton Chicago pop up coincides with the debut of the Virgil Abloh’s exhibition, “Figures of Speech” at the Museum of Contemporary Art. If you aren’t already familiar, the Illinois native and Chicago resident is the first person of African decent to lead the helm of Louis Vuitton’s mens line. Abloh is also the founder of the Milan-based label Off-White, a streetwear line known for it’s graphic design elements and devoted celebrity following. Not only is his creative mind evident in the LV fall collection but also throughout the pop up. If you find yourself in Chicago’s West Loop in the next few weeks, make a point to stop by!
