For the past six years, I’ve had the pleasure of spending time learning, researching, traveling to… and loving Finland. My full-time job represents several Finnish-based destinations and brands, and it continues to be an all-time favorite. The Nordic destination is more special than I can put into words. As part of my ongoing journey, I’ve also had the pleasure of meeting lot of makers, artisans, chefs, entrepreneurs and designers. Today, I wanted to introduce you to one of them – Miia Halmesmaa.
Within minutes of seeing her styles, I fell in love with her statement clothing and accessory collection. She’s very talented! Plus, her line has a ton of heart, soul and sustainability.
Who is Miia Halmesmaa?
So who is Miia Halmesmaa? First off, Miia is the ultimate fashionable Finn based in Turku. While we’ve worked with Finland for many years, Turku just happens to be one of the few destinations that I haven’t been able to visit yet. However, I know it’s an amazing cultural hub for arts, style and beyond.
There are infinite reasons to adore Miia’s line.
Her collection embodies all things joy, femininity, and body positivity. Moreover, Halmesmaa is extremely mindful and thoughtful with her design and manufacturing process. She designs pieces in small quantities and focuses on creating ethical and ecological clothes. Plus, she’s size inclusive and known as a designer at the forefront of sustainable Finnish fashion.
