Happy Friday – hope you had a great week! I landed back home in Chicago last night after a whirlwind couple of days in New York City. My colleagues and I had an industry awards event to attend along with a range of client meetings. While it’s always so much fun to see NYC friends when I’m there, it’s near impossible to do so when it’s a work trip. As can be expected, nearly every part of the day is scheduled for, or on behalf of a current client or new business. Regardless, I was so thrilled to be in the Big Apple while the trees and flowers were beginning to bloom!
Tonight, I’m getting together for cocktails with one of my friends from out of town, Lyndsey. She is such a lovely person, and I can’t wait to catch up! Beyond that, I’m looking forward to a low key weekend. The fact that my Dallas, Scotland and New York trips were so close together, I haven’t been able to spend much time at home as of late. A relaxing weekend is just what the doctor ordered!
Today’s post includes one of my all-time favorite silhouettes: the fit and flare midi dress. Best of all, both of these looks are on sale! Given that the weather was a bit chilly when we took these photos, I layered the strapless dress over a classic button down. This has been one of my favorite styling tricks to make an otherwise warm weather look a bit more versatile {also seen in this post and this post}.
