An Update on the Sail to Sable x Style Charade Capsule Collection

Over the past week, I’ve been participating in the Amplified Voices movement. For those who might be unfamiliar, the concept asked brands, influencers, and individuals to re-evaluate their current practices and educate themselves on topics of racism, Black Lives Matter, and beyond. As we move into this next week, I want to reiterate my commitment to being a continued advocate and ally for the Black community. While last week gave everyone the time to re-evaluate how we can BE better, LISTEN more, and DO better, there’s still so much work to be done.

Style Charade has always been, and will continue to be, an online destination supportive of diversity and inclusion. Offline, I am also doing the work – reading, donating, signing petitions, and engaging in tough conversations at work, with brands, clients, family, friends, and strangers. It’s a marathon, not a sprint, and I’m dedicated to the journey ahead.

In other personal news, after months and months of work, the launch of my capsule collection with Sail to Sable is right around the corner – Tuesday June 16, 2020 at 11 AM CST / 12 PM EST. I’m excited to support this female-founded independent company. At the same time I also very much want to be mindful of greater issues at hand in our country, including the ongoing fight for social justice and the Black Lives Matter movement.

Per my announcement of the collaboration a couple weeks ago, I’m happy to share that a portion of the proceeds from sales of the collection will benefit Feeding America, the nation’s largest hunger relief organization. They have and continue to do amazing things for those in need.

On top of that, I’ve decided to donate 100% of my affiliate commission from the June and July sales of the Sail to Sable x Style Charade capsule collection to the NAACP Legal Defense and Educational Fund. It’s one of several steps and contributions I’ve personally committed to in support of racial justice.

Stay tuned to Instagram later today, as I plan to share a first look at one of the styles from the upcoming Sail to Sable x Style Charade collection!

Additionally, I want to thank you for your generous contributions to Black Visions Collective. In partnership with Mackenzie Horan and her husband Will, we raised more than $9,300 for Black Visions Collective in a 48-hour period, which included Mackenzie and Will’s match of $1,000 and our additional $1,000. Also, a special thanks to Mackenzie for initiating the Instagram fundraising effort. My greatest hope is that all these steps towards being more deliberate in the fight for racial equality will set us on the right path.

Lastly, I want to share my utmost gratitude to you. It’s been a joy to occupy this little corner of the internet. Initially, it was to share outfits and fashion, and you’ve continued to support when I’ve opened up more and shared about life, travels, our home, and beyond. Heck, many of you have even stood by while Bob and I figured out how to cook real meals during quarantine – that’s commitment, lol. I’m excited for the future of this blog and the efforts we are putting around it. None of it would be possible with you, and I know that. So, thank you. Cheers to continuing to lift each other up each and every day.
