New York, New York. A city so nice, they named it twice! My full-time job brings me to the Big Apple anywhere from ten to fifteen times each year. Lately, I’ve been trying to extending business trips into the weekend to enjoy leisure time. On our recent trip, we decided to stay at The Williamsburg Hotel.

While Soho, Greenwich Village, and the Meatpacking District are all amazing parts of NYC, Brooklyn has become a favorite spot for leisure time in the city. In many ways, it put me at ease. I immediately feel more relaxed and calm.

Overall, Williamsburg is just the most charming spot. In fact, I love all of the restaurants, bars, shops, and street art. While the neighborhood has evolved a bunch over the years, I love the unique businesses, events, and festivals that take place in the neighborhood.

The Williamsburg Hotel Review

Bob and I previously stayed at The Williamsburg Hotel in spring of 2017. Back then, the hotel was newly opened, and construction was still ongoing for some parts of the building. Regardless, we fell in the love with the property, the staff, service, and beautiful design. It was a truly wonderful stay, and we always knew we’d be back.

Needless to say, our second visit didn’t let us down. The building is even more beautiful than we remembered, and they’ve opened their restaurant, Harvey, which serves AMAZING food. I am OBSESSED with their brunch, especially the hash brown sandwich and açai bowl. Delish! The bar gets quite busy during nights and weekends – a perfect place to meet up with friends, colleagues, etc.

Room and Accommodation Options

The rooms are without question my favorite part of the property. First, I stayed in a King Terrace. While smaller than other room types, the double height ceilings and natural finishes makes it feel homey. The King Terrace comes with a private balcony with views of the neighborhood. Also, it offers a private escape from the bustling city.

Additionally, the bathrooms are gorgeous! In fact, expect beautiful marble and brass bathrooms along with bold, colorful tiles. Furthermore, all bathroom toiletries are by Apotheke, a plant-based luxury body care and home fragrance brand based in Brooklyn.

The Skyline Suite

For night two and three, I moved into a Skyline Suite. Friends, this room doesn’t disappoint. Although you can’t go wrong with any of the offerings at The Williamsburg Hotel, if you can splurge for the suite, do it! The views are stunning. Plus, the mini bar is fully stocked, the bed is super comfy, and the bathroom is phenomenal (the soap/beauty products are awesome).

Overall, the hotel was designed by Michaelis Boyd Studio. Furthermore, do you have a pet? Thankfully, the hotel is pet-friendly, and they make sure that your furry friends have a phenomenal stay!

On a side note, I would advise bringing an eye mask and ear plugs – especially if you’re worried about light and sound (like me). Bob didn’t have any issues, but I get very sensitive those things, as I do at most hotels, Sadly, it’s always been a struggle for me – not just this property.

The Neighborhood

Another reason I love staying here is the location. Several friends of mine live in Brooklyn, and those who don’t are always up for the quick train ride. Since there are so many cute restaurants and shops within a stone’s throw of the hotel, it was so easy to get together with some of my favorite people.

For example, Allie and I were able to grab dinner at Denizen. Furthermore, Jennifer and I had a lovely lunch at Juliette. Over the weekend, Grace met up with Bob and I at Marlow & Sons. Finally, we enjoyed brunch with Sam and Kyle at Egg Shop.

Additionally, the last time we stayed in Williamsburg, we tried Mable’s Smokehouse and Maison Premiere. Consequently, there are so many great spots! Lastly, since we fly in and out of LaGuardia, Brooklyn is a much faster (and more affordable) cab ride than Manhattan.

In Closing

Visiting New York and looking to explore something beyond Manhattan? If so, I highly recommend The Williamsburg Hotel. Whether you’re looking for a romantic weekend or a girlfriends getaway, this hotel will exceed all expectations. Enjoy, and be sure to let me know if you stay here!
