Get ready to be gaga for all things gingham this spring! The print is popping up everywhere – from espadrilles to earrings, hats to maxi skirts and everything in between. I’ve always been a huge fan of the pattern, as seen from my black and white top in Chicago, my picnic skirt on Nantucket, this navy gingham dress and sunny two-piece set in Palm Beach, this gorgeous green frock in New York, and even this purple piece in Dallas. Lastly, pink gingham is always a must (as seen here and here)!

But what styles should you invest in this season, and how do you style the pattern in new and interesting ways? Today, I’m sharing how to wear gingham three different ways.

How to Wear Gingham on the Weekend

With temperatures all over the place, and rain sometimes in the forecast, my go-to piece for the weekend each spring is a trench coat. Thankfully, there are SO many cute options on the market that won’t break the bank. My personal favorite is this gorgeous pink and white version! OBSESSED! I also love this black and white option.

How to Wear Gingham to a Dressy Event

Now that spring is around the corner, weddings and special events are on the horizon. As opposed to putting on the same-old dress, opt for a colorful jumpsuit! This blue gingham piece is an effortless way to dress up while still being comfortable, thanks to the cropped wide leg and pockets (!!). Pair it with a contrasting headband and glitter heels for a dressier look or flat sandals and a wide brim hat for more casual events.

Since spring temperatures can be slightly chilly, and my office is ALWAYS cold, I’m constantly on the lookout for chic layers to throw on in a pinch. My must-have staple? A colorful cardigan or sweater. Pair it with a matching pencil skirt or solid dress pants, and you’re ready for the work week!
