Best Skincare Tips for La Mer The Concentrate

After nearly two years of testing La Mer The Concentrate – I have a lot of opinions. La Mer is well-known for their pricey skincare products cell-renewing Miracle Broth. Furthermore, they promote items that make skin stronger, more stable and visibly soother.

What is La Mer The Concentrate Used for?

The brand’s powerhouse elixir called Miracle Broth is designed to have barrier-building benefits. In other words, The Concentrate is your solution to build your skin’s strength against these two daily irritants.

Plus, the brand revealed new La Mer Concentrate new packaging which features includes even more antioxidant power thanks to the addition of lime tea concentrate. In fact, La Mer calls the ingredient an “antioxidant powerhouse.” Why? Simply put, it has an ability to protect against free radicals. In other words, the gunk left behind by environmental stressors.

From what I’ve read, in a clinical case study of 23 women, after 14 days of using La Mer The Concentrate, the women’s skin and natural barrier was significantly strengthened.

Furthermore, La Mer is made in the USA, and The Concentrate product is Phthalate-free, sulfate-free, paraben-free, talc-free, and mineral oil–free.

How to Layer La Mer The Concentrate

The best way to layer La Mer The Concentrate is with the wand that comes with the product. Add a small amount onto fingertips, and gently press and massage onto skin. Furthermore, the brand recommends using the product at least twice daily to see the full benefits.

My Review of the Products

Acne is a four letter word. With good reason, too! For as long as I can remember, I’ve struggled with skincare issues. In fact, any time I try a new skincare product, my skin flares up immediately, followed by a bout of multi-week acne.

Therefore, I am very sensitive about trying out new products. Consequently, I was worried about trying La Mer The Concentrate, and even Crème de la Mer.

Does La Mer The Concentrate Help with Acne Scars?

Based on initial research, customers have seen an incredible change to their acne scars. Many shoppers see a major reduction in the acne scars where they looked less noticeable and inflamed.

To be transparent, I haven’t seen a huge notable difference in my scars themselves, but mine are pretty deep. However, my skin feels and looks more visibly smooth and just healthy.

Where to Shop for La Mer

My go-to website and store for La Mer is Nordstrom. Thankfully, the Nordstrom beauty team has never led me astray. I’ve shopped there nearly my entire life, and their beauty team always have phenomenal recommendations – no matter your age, skin type, or beyond.

I’ve turned to them for countless product recommendations to help me adapt to Chicago’s tough weather, travel products, acne issues, and dry skin.

My History with La Mer

Since I’ve struggled all my life with skincare, I’m willing to invest in high-quality products. When I hit my 30’s, my view of beauty products completely transformed. Instead of wanting expensive bags, designer dresses and shoes (although those are wonderful too), I often invest in skincare products – lotions, serums, oils, face masks, lip treatments and beyond.

In fact, I remember the first time my mom brought home Crème de la Mer. I opened her beauty cabinet to see what she had inside. Scattered about was various premium beauty products, but a lotion that caught my attention along with a few lipsticks.

That day, she caught me scouring her bathroom, and instead of making me feel bad – she spent the next hour explaining each product in her cabinet. When she arrived at the lotion, I remember her saying, “Now Jenny, this is extra special. You need to be careful and you don’t need to use a lot – just a dab.”

La Mer has been on my radar ever since. In fact, it’s why the brand’s products are included in my daily skincare routine and nighttime beauty regimen.

About Crème de la Mer

In 1965, Crème de la Mer was born. It’s become the brand’s hero product and with good reason. It’s amazing and totally timeless.

The ingredients include seaweed extract, known to be an antioxidant, skin softener and moisturizer. According to the brand, it also contains several other ingredients, notably calcium, magnesium, potassium, iron, Vitamins, C, and oils of citrus, eucalyptus and beyond.

I’ve used it for a little over one year now, and I never have any issues with breakouts or redness. I also use it on my neck and always a few dabs on my nose (reminds me of my mom).

The Moisturizing Soft Cream

With Chicago’s harsh winds, freezing temperatures and showy days, I’ve added La Mer’s The Moisturizing Soft Cream to my routine. The main difference between the two? The texture.

The cream is incredibly nourishing for my skin. Best of all, it doesn’t contain any sulfates, parabens, or phthalates. I especially love it for my face, hands, and neck.

Also, I was shocked to learn the jar is hand-filled by someone within eight hours of the cream being created. Isn’t that crazy?! LOVE that.

La Mer Renewal Oil

After having amazing success with La Mer The Concentrate and Crème de la Mer, I decided to invest in La Mer’s The Renewal Oil. This dual-phase oil is designed to reduce wrinkles and fine lines. Plus, it helps with dryness – so very important in Chicago winters!

This oil was a phenomenal addition to my skincare routine. Trust me, I know the word “oil” scares any person who struggles with acne. But this is a GOOD oil. For me, incorporating The Renewal Oil helps temper some of the acne-inducing oils my skin would otherwise produce.

In fact, I don’t just use it on my face, neck, and décolletage but I also on my nail cuticles. The oil is incredibly hydrating.

How to Apply The Products

Overall, I recommend applying La Mer Concetrate in the following order.

First, using the wand, add a smooth a small amount on your fingertips. Next, press gently onto your face and neck to soothe your skin.

Additionally, be sure to check out this video from the brand which goes into more detail.

The Final Result + Feedback

If you’re looking to invest in a new skincare product, I highly recommend La Mer. Stop by Nordstrom to talk more with their beauty team about the items that work best with your current skincare regiment.
