Every October, the Veuve Clicquot Polo Classic Los Angeles is always such an amazing highlight. Saturday’s event was definitely the best yet! As always, it was held at the historic Will Rogers Park. Today, I’m taking you behind-the-scenes of the 2018 Veuve Clicquot Polo Classic Los Angeles from the celebrities to the fashion.

After all, the decor and people watching is nothing short of amazing. Plus, this year’s weather was perfection. The temperatures was in the 70s with partly cloudy skies.

Getting Glam with GlamSquad

After flying into LA on Thursday night (read more about that unique experience here), Bob and I enjoyed a leisurely Friday in the city. On Saturday morning, we woke up first thing, as I scheduled an early appointment with Glamsquad.

Are you familiar? Overall, I’m obsessed with the ease of their service. Plus, they have upbeat, professional stylists. Originally, I considered doing an updo. After all, I didn’t want my curls to fall at a hot and sunny event. However, sine we were blessed 60 degrees, I went with loose curls. As always, the Glamsquad stylist made everything so easy!

VCPC LA Guests

With my fresh, wavy hair, we went to grab breakfast poolside at our hotel. The Veuve Clicquot Polo Classic Los Angeles is a midday event, so we were able to take our time in the morning and get a solid start to our Saturday. Just before 11:00 AM, we met up with my friend Megan and her friend Jenny and headed out.

This year, we had VIP tickets, so our shuttle pickup in the Pacific Palisades was at a completely different spot than years past when we were in the Rosé Garden. Be sure to read my guide to the Veuve Clicquot Polo Classic to learn more about the different types of tickets.

What I Wore to the 2018 Veuve Clicquot Polo Classic Los Angeles

Selecting a look for the Veuve Clicquot Polo Classic is always a task in and of itself. Obviously, you want to wear a more elevated look, but you want something comfortable at the same time. Moreover, the venue always has the most amazing floral arrangements and backdrops, so I always hope that the look will compliment the surroundings.

This year, I was beyond honored to partner with Carolina Herrera for the event. When they reached out to see if I was interested in making a stop at their showroom in New York, it was an immediate “yes!” While there, I saw countless amazing dresses and separates.

After trying on a few Pre-Fall and Fall looks, I landed upon this gorgeous deep green floral embroidered dress. From the moment I saw it, I knew it would be perfect for the Polo Classic!

VIP Tickets for the Veuve Clicquot Polo Classic Los Angeles

As mentioned earlier, we were able to enjoy the event in the VIP section. This invite-only area was filled with gorgeous décor elements and plenty of comfortable seating. Plus, the buffet and open bar made the experience that much more wonderful. Thankfully, we arrived early enough to snag a table that was perfectly situated for polo watching and people watching.

This year, some of the guests included Ellen Pompeo, Kendall Jenner, Christina Hendricks, Rachel Zoe, Garcelle Beauvais, Olivia Wilde, Mandy Moore, and Rebel Wilson, among others. I always love how everyone leaps from their seats at halftime to go stomp divots. Such a cute tradition.

Not only did they serve the traditional Veuve Cliquot yellow label by the glass, but they had their iconic Rosé and the newly introduced Rich champagne as well. The Rosé was my go-to for the day. After all, she just celebrated her 200th birthday! If you ask me, she doesn’t look a day over 125, lol! After the conclusion of the match, the VIP section turned into one giant dance party. I kid you not, it was Ellen Pompeo who got the whole thing started! She must have made a few song requests from her friend Samantha Ronson, and the rest was history!

Special thanks to Veuve Clicquot for inviting me to this year’s Polo Classic in Los Angeles. It’s partnerships like these that make Style Charade possible.
