For the past two years, Bob and I have transformed a lakeside home into a dreamy coastal getaway. During the process, we were warned about two things. First, renovations take more time than you think. Next? It’ll cost you double (maybe even triple) what you budgeted. But in the end, the results are worth it. So true.
Two of our biggest design projects? The kitchen and bathrooms. Beyond adding value to the home, these spaces are consistently used on a frequent basis. The kitchen is the heart of the home, and bathrooms – while functional – can (and should) be beautiful. When planning the renovation, we paid special attention to these spaces. No detail was overlooked.
To start the process, we worked with our architect and interior designer to identify the color scheme, fabrics, and materials. One of our first decisions? Countertops and surface materials. After all, they’re a foundational element of most spaces. The selection was easy – Caesarstone Frosty Carinna.
After all, we selected their gorgeous quartz for our primary home. As such, we know and trust their brand. However, the lake home provided new opportunities and ways to incorporate the material into our home. We absolutely love the final result!
Why Caesarstone?
Caesarstone has an exceptional reputation for delivering best-in-class quartz countertops and porcelain surfaces. We love their use of natural raw minerals while placing durability at the forefront.
Listen, our kitchen countertops experience a bunch of wear and tear. While we’re childfree by choice, the lake home will see a bunch of visitors throughout the year. Therefore, we need something that is durable to stand the test of time. Caesarstone is a no-brainer, and honestly one of the best decisions we made.
One of the best parts of the brand? The ease of care with Caesarstone. Whenever we’re spending time at home, we don’t want to worry about cleaning every twelve seconds. Thankfully, a splash of warm soapy water is all it takes to maintain the pristine condition of the surfaces. When needed, we’re vigilant about wiping away spills to prevent any patina, which keeps our countertops looking as good as new. Love that!
Selecting Our Material – Caesarstone Frosty Carrina
Selecting the material was an adventure in itself. Guided by our interior designer, Amelia Canham Eaton, we chose Frosty Carrina, which is a mix of ivory white with grey veined quartz countertops. This selection wasn’t just about color or texture; it was about finding a piece of nature that echoed the serenity of our lakeside setting.
The ivory white, interspersed with graceful powdery-grey veining, formed a timeless classic that brought a piece of the coast right into our home. Beyond the countertops, we created the most gorgeous waterfall island in the center of the kitchen. So good!
Beyond the Kitchen
Due to the versatility of Caesarstone’s quartz, we were able to think outside of the kitchen for unexpected applications throughout the home. For example, we were able to use Caesarstone to create curved shower walls in our primary bathroom out of Caesarstone Frosty Carrina. So chic!
Additionally, we were able to create a stunning fireplace surround in our living room in Frosty Carrina. The bright ivory and gray is a focal point in the room and adds to the cozy retreat feeling during more chilly evenings and elevates the overall design of our home.
Lastly, Caesarstone isn’t just for countertops or showers – it’s also a phenomenal option for flooring. We chose to back door entry, and love the way it brightens the room while grounding it in a sophisticated way.
The potential of their products is limitless.
Caesarstone Frosty Carinna – In Closing
Every step of this journey with Caesarstone brought us closer to realizing our dream home. It’s fascinating how a choice of material can so profoundly affect the aesthetics and functionality of a space. Our lakeside retreat, now completed with Caesarstone’s beautiful products, stands as a testament to the final result – a serene, coastal-inspired getaway.
From the kitchen to the bathroom and beyond, Caesarstone has not just met but exceeded our expectations. As we settle into our newly transformed spaces, we’re reminded of the importance of choosing the right materials. We give them our highest recommendation.
Incredible home. I love white interiors. I don’t love gold inside the house though, it’s not one of my favorite colors
