My Journey with rewardStyle and LIKEtoKNOW.it
Prior to launching Style Charade, I had the pleasure of meeting Sarah Engel at a Travel + Leisure dinner in Chicago. Eventually, she moved from Chicago to Dallas to work full-time as a VP at rewardStyle (she’s moved on since). Knowing that affiliate marketing was an essential element of any blog, I reached out to her to share my plans for Style Charade and to ask about joining the platform. Talk about nerve wracking!
First off, I distinctly remember being told rS membership was quite competitive. Several bloggers said, “Most don’t get accepted into the program initially. Don’t take it personally.” With fewer than 5,000 Instagram followers at the time, and no ACTUAL blog for them to review, my acceptance was a long shot. Regardless, I put myself out there and asked if they’d work with me.
Thankfully, she wrote back within minutes and said, “Absolutely! Welcome to the rewardStyle family!” From there, she connected me with an account rep to get everything set up. To this day, I still remember receiving the email (it was a freezing Chicago morning, and we about to do a photo shoot on a boat dock, lol). I’m sure my shriek of happiness was heard all the way in Australia!
Looking back, I’m not quite sure why they agreed to take a chance on me. Yes, I had a clear vision, and I would (and still) work hard to make them proud. Regardless, my content and following at that time was, well, not where it’s at right now. I’m indebted to her and the company for seeing something in me that I didn’t see in myself. Their gamble is one of many reasons why I remain incredibly loyal to both rewardStyle and LIKEtoKNOW.it. I adore them!
What is the LIKEtoKNOW.it Book?
LIKEtoKNOW.it: Stories from the Influencer Next Door includes a compilation of interviews with influencers. The hardcover book includes interviews with bloggers and content creators about how they launched their businesses and it’s evolution over time.
The coffee table book makes a great gift for the holidays and/or for anyone in your life who has, or is considering creating, a blog. At the same time, you don’t need to be an Instagrammer or blogger to like this book. The photographs are stunning and the content is full of great advice and insights.

Also, it is so wonderful to read more about other close blogging friends like Mackenzie Horan, Mara Ferrara, Melanie Elturk, Krystin Lee, Anh Sundstrom, Ranti Onayemi, Sarah Tripp, Brooke Webb, Monica Awe-Etuk, among so many others.
The LIKEtoKNOW.it Book Tour in Partnership with WeWork
Over the next several months, the LIKEtoKNOW.it team is doing an 8-city book tour. The tour will include various events and panel discussions, along with countless influencers sharing their stories.
