It’s no secret that I’m a “dress girl.” If I had to wear one thing for the rest of time… it would be a dress. However, on the rare occasion, a statement top makes me second guess that decision. Think those stop you in your tracks, gorgeous, thumb-stopping, compliment inducing tops that are so gorgeous that you never want to take it off. Enter the Steph Silver Sequin Top.
This holiday season, I wanted to design the ultimate holiday sequin top. Therefore, I carefully constructed the most chic sequin silhouette that’s the ultimate “WOW” style. Friends, I love this top more than I can express into words. In fact, I’d go so far as to say that this may be the new signature piece of the Style Charade capsules. If all goes well (gah!), I’d love to bring this style to you in countless other versions.

My starting point? The actual sequins and neckline. First, the sequins were an easy decision! 🙂 I’m head over heels in love with the silver sequins of the Charlotte. Therefore, we chose to incorporate the ethereal sequins into this piece as well.
Moreover, I wanted to create a unique boatneck neckline. At first, the Sail to Sable team was like, “a boatneck neckline in sequins? Are you sure?”
Yes, yes I was (and am!).
I love the preppy nature of a boatneck neckline. Plus, I’ve never seen it done with sequins. It turned out to be trickier to design than we thought. Thankfully, after countless samples and conversations, we finally got it right.
Another important factor to me was a top that wasn’t too short, too cropped or too long. This length is just SOOOOOO good. It covers the areas you want to cover and makes you look SO chic!
