As a lifelong swimmer and former lifeguard, swimsuits have been a part of my life for as long as I can remember. For years, my closet had two drawers dedicated to all things swim – some styles for function (i.e., competitive swimming and my lifeguard uniforms). The other one for more fashion-forward styles (i.e., vacation, fun with friends, etc.). No matter the occasion or situation, I’ve found the best one-piece swimsuits for women share similar qualities.
Think versatility, packability, durable and stretchy fabrics, and silhouettes that work for most body types. At the same time, not all one-piece swimsuits are created equal.

Moreover, as time has gone on, my body has changed. As we age, things shift. I’m okay with that. 🙂
Plus, gravity has a funny way of making itself known and present, lol. 🙂 Therefore, my preferences for swimsuits have changed – especially after I turned 40. As such, I find myself noticing key characteristics that make a swimsuit fantastic and wanted to share some of my findings.

Best One-Piece Swimsuits for Women
Today, I’m sharing my top recommendations for the best one-piece swimsuit styles for women on the market right now. I’ll keep this post updated in the coming seasons to come. After all, swim styles go in and out of stock quite often. However, I’m confident you’ll love these pieces below as much as I do.
Lastly, you’ll notice I’m solely focusing on one-piece swimsuits. After turning 40, I’ve chosen to invest mostly in one-piece swimsuits vs. bikinis. This is just a personal preference, but beyond just comfort – I’m all about protecting my skin from the sun. As a recovering sun lover who never wore sunscreen and enjoyed tanning beds in college, I’m making up for lost time by doing everything in my power to protect my skin from aging and sun damage.

Loverly Grey x Hermoza Brittany Bow One-Piece
My sweet friend, Brittany of Loverly Grey recently launched a capsule collection with Hermoza. The result? FABULOUS. I literally want every single piece in the collection. Even though the whole capsule is perfect, my favorite style is easily the Brittany Bow One-Piece swimsuit. The style comes in two versions – a blue floral pattern called “Meadow Whisper” and the other in all-white. Either one is fantastic.

Since I love color, I opted for Meadow Whisper and absolutely adore this piece. First, it’s incredibly comfortable and has so many sweet details – from the feminine bow straps and also a waist-defining belt. Best of all, the swimsuit is under $200 and worth every penny.
The Beauty of a Pareo
Additionally, I styled the Brittany Bow One-Piece Swimsuit with her Collins Pareo Wrap Skirt in Daylight Saunter. Pareos are a MUST in my book. The past few summers, I’ve started stocking up on a bunch of them.

Tabacaru Milly Swimsuit
A few summers ago, I got this swimsuit to bring to Nantucket. It was love at first wear. The Tabacaru Milly swimsuit is perfect in every way – the long removable statement bow, the soft fabric, the crisp white hue – everything. Plus, this swimsuit comes in three different color options (all white, black and white, and my version – blue and white). I hope they even consider expanding to more hues!
The brand has so many other pieces that I have my eye on (including this bow swimsuit). So chic!

Megan Pinckney Rutherford x Ricki Beach Club
Leave it to the ever-so-wonderful Megan Pinckney Rutherford of @shadesofpinck to create the most gorgeous swimwear line with Ricki Beach Club. I’ve been following Megan for years on social media, and had the opportunity to spend time with her during our Sail to Sable x Style Charade Holiday collection photo shoot at The Greenbrier. Friends, she is AMAZING.

There are some people on social media that just give that vibe of – “I’m authentic, I’m kind.” She is and then some. She’s the real deal and one of those women I hope will always be in my world. Total girl’s girl. Plus, she has fantastic style.
While I love everything in the line, my favorite is the Folly One-Piece Swimsuit in Isle of Palms. There’s also a chic coordinating sarong that I need to get my hands on!

Summersalt Swimsuits
A few summers ago, I had the chance to partner with Summersalt for a collaboration on Instagram. In the past, I had purchased one of their swimsuit styles and loved it. Thanks to working with them in a more formal capacity, I got the chance to try a bunch more of their pieces and they’re FABULOUS. There’s a reason why they’re on the bestselling styles on the market.
Best One-Piece Swimsuits – Agua de Agua Bendita
One of my all-time favorite swimwear brands? Agua de Agua Bendita. Beyond the gorgeous patterns, prints, and colors – they’ve always been SO good at designing coordinating pieces. In other words, cover-ups, skirts, dresses and swimsuits that can mix and match easily. I love the fact their swimwear almost looks like a breezy outfit that can be worn from the beach to lunch.
I’m sharing some of my favorite styles below, but be sure to check out the entire collection.

Camila Coeho Rumba One-Piece Swimsuit
I don’t shop on Revolve that often, but when I find a piece that works – it REALLY works. For example, this gorgeous one-piece swimsuit by Camila Coeho. The Rumba one-piece swimsuit is a stylish statement piece that embodies the best of summer. I paired it with this metallic cover-up skirt for a fun combo.

In general, Revolve has some stellar one-piece swim options that feel modern, not matronly. After all, one-piece swimsuits don’t need to be boring. In fact, I often feel there are more unique silhouette options to choose from. Here are a few of my favorites:
