Happy Thursday! Today, I’m sharing this beautiful and colorful Farm Rio Maxi Dress. Are you familiar with the brand? This maxi dress happens is the first piece that I’ve ever purchased from them. Granted, a little over a year ago, their agency reached out to possibly send some styles. Sadly, it didn’t work out, and I greatly regret not being able to make something happen. But I digress… 🙁
Overall, I love that it’s a colorful company that embraces bold prints, patterns and hues. Their designs are truly amazing! This season, they are bringing the heat (and vibrant prints) with their smile-inducing styles.
Farm Rio Maxi Dress
Lately, I’ve been trying to invest in a lot of new designers that I’ve never worn before. Farm Rio is a truly natural alignment with my personal style – especially this gorgeous option!
First off, the dress fits true to size, and it comes in standard, petite and plus sizes. Love that! I’m wearing the standard option, which wasn’t too long for me (I’m 5’4).
Size inclusivity is extremely important to me. Frankly, I need (and want) to do a better job of championing brands and retailers who invest in this aspect of their collections. Farm Rio clearly takes it seriously, and I sincerely appreciate them making extended sizing a priority.
About Farm Rio
Farm Rio is a true “stand to super brand” story. 20 years ago, co-founders Katie Barros and Marcello Bastos started selling their garments at an independent fashion market called Babilonia Feira Hype. Now, they’ve transformed into one of Brazil’s most recognizable labels. I love their cheerful creations and “toes-in-the-sand spirit.”
Beyond their magical silhouettes and bold colors that embody Rio de Janeiro, they also believe in giving back. Farm Rio is about both style AND substance. Since nature is a big inspiration for the brand, they believe it’s their duty help protect nature and protect endangered forest ecosystems like those in the Amazon rainforest.
Therefore, they’ve been planting trees in the Atlantic Forest and in the Amazon with non-profits such as the SOS Mata Atlântica Foundation, One Tree Planted, and the Institute for Conservation and Sustainable Development of the Amazonas. As of last spring, they’ve donated 50,000 trees. Pretty incredible!
CH Carolina Herrera Bag
To complement the Farm Rio Maxi Dress, I styled it with this brand new CH Carolina Herrera bag. The brand continues to be very special to me. In fact, I wore them to the Veuve Clicquot Polo Classic NYC 2019 (which is legitimately my favorite event of the year).
As with all photo shoots, I love finding new locations to personify and amplify an outfit. In this case, I am excited to unveil this gorgeous mural at New City Chicago by the talented Cheri Charlton. She was commissioned to create it in celebration of the Tecalitlan Mexican Restaurant opening, and she did a spectacular job!
As so many of you know, street art and murals are part of the backbone and DNA of Style Charade. It’s a joy and honor to be able to feature these beautiful works out art. I can’t wait to see what Cheri does next!
