The Ultimate Guide to the Hill House Holiday Collection

Plaids, Sequins, and Tartans, Oh My!
Hill House Holiday Collection

The Hill House Holiday collection is almost HERE! Full of festive cheer and haute holiday glam, Hill House Holiday does not disappoint. Furthermore, the brand’s pieces are reasonably priced with nearly everything under $375.

If you’re already a member of Nap Dress nation, you’re already familiar with the quality of the styles, fits, and fabrics. What’s truly exciting about this new drop is that the Hill House Holiday line includes a bunch of new styles. Moreover, while there are plenty of party dresses to pick from, the holiday capsule features many separates, including tops, pants, and even the perfect plaid jacket.

Today, I’m featuring everything you need to know about the Hill House Holiday Collection, along with styling tips and what I plan to buy this season.

Hill House Holiday Collection

Friends, get ready for the largest and most darling Hill House Holiday collection yet. From plaids to brocades, blackwatch to sequins, the line is full of festive styles for both formal and casual holiday occasions.

What does the Hill House Holiday Collection Drop?

Expect the holiday collection to officially drop today, October 19th at 12 PM ET / 11 AM CT exclusively on their website.

What Hill House Holiday styles will be available?

The Hill House Holiday collection features 50 styles, including women’s apparel and accessories, and two little girl dresses. There are so many phenomenal styles to pick from, it’s a bit overwhelming. Some pieces will likely fly faster than others – especially from their Ellie Nap Dress line.

What am I planning to buy?

Gah, it’s tough! Interestingly enough, I’m actually drawn to a couple pieces that aren’t dresses – especially this style and these Party Platform heels. How darling is that silhouette with the ruffle? At the same time, dresses are my favorite apparel category, so I plan to buy that along with the rose gold sequin Collector’s Edition and Ellie Nap Dress in red tartan or blackwatch.

Without giving away too much, the Party Platform heels will go perfectly with something from my upcoming Sail to Sable x Style Charade Holiday collection.

Hill House Holiday Nap Dress

Ellie Nap Dress

four pattern options in their bestselling Nap Dresses. The Ellie Nap Dress will be available in a ravishing Red Tartan ($150), Blackwatch Tartan ($150), Snowflake Brocade, and luxe Navy Velvet ($175).

Additionally, there will be five Collector’s Edition styles, including two tulle options in Pink Tulle or Powder Blue ($275 each), along with two lace options in White Lace ($175) and Botanical Garden Green Lace ($175).

Keep in mind, the Collector’s Edition Nap Dresses are sheer. Therefore, I highly recommend buying one of their matching machine-washable slips, especially if you plan to purchase the Botanical Garden Green Lace version (or the cream version). They’re $75 each, but they’ll reduce headaches in trying to figure out what to style underneath them.

Moreover, there will be a rose gold sequin Nap Dress, which I think will be a bestseller. Plus, it’s machine washable (and only $275, which is a stellar price, in my humble opinion.

In general, I find the Ellie Nap Dress to fit true to size. I purchased this Nap Dress version from last year’s Holiday collection in a size small. The dress has a lot of great stretch, so you truly can take your regular size. When I visited the Hill House Nantucket store, a sales associate even told a pregnant woman that they find women say they are even the same size as when they’re pregnant as when they’re not pregnant. So interesting!

Athena Nap Dress

Beyond the signature Nap Dresses, expect two Athena Nap Dresses (shorter with a puff sleeve). Simply put, the Athena Nap dress is basically the babydoll version of the Nap Dress. Therefore, it’s slightly shorter than the Ellie, but not too mini that you need to be worried about anything.

Each version is only $125, and you can purchase it in either Blackwatch Tartan or Red Tartan. Both options will be available on the website starting 10/19.

Caroline Nap Dress

Also, there’s the Caroline Nap Dress, a longer midi length dress in blackwatch tartan (only $125). While I’m not always in love with puff sleeves, the design is honestly perfect. It’s not too big of a statement sleeve. Furthermore, I love the smocked neck as it’s roomy enough to also be styled off the shoulder. So smart!

Louisa Nap Dress

Next up is the Louisa Nap Dress, the newest version of the Nap Dress family. There are countless reasons to adore this fresh style. First, it features elasticated smocking and a stylish scooped neckline. Additionally, the length is perfect – a ruffle hem midi skirt and posh puff sleeves that aren’t overly voluminous.

The Hill House Holiday collection includes three versions – Navy Velvet ($175), and then the Blackwatch Tartan and Red Tartan (both $150 each). Both fit true to size, and you can check out the size guide here.

The Cher Dress

How fun is this dress? The Cher Dress will be available in two options – The Stewart Plaid and Snowflake Brocade (both options are only $125). Keep in mind, this is one of their best-selling styles.

The Cher Dress silhouette is shorter style than other Hill House holiday dresses. Furthermore, it’s an A-line dress with comfy elastic smocking at the waist. Since it’s sleeveless, I recommend styling it with a white button-down shirt or white bodysuit for added comfort.

Evelyn Dress

Looking for a fabulous plaid dress for work? The Evelyn Dress is perfect. The Blackwatch Plaid long-sleeve dress will pair perfectly with so many other layers and styles. Add a cardigan or blazer, a pair of tights and heels or boots, and you’re ready for the workday ahead.

The silhouette is breezy and effortless, and features a posh Peter Pan collar and ruffled elastic sleeves. I love it’s machine washable, and the price is just right (only $125). So good!

The Araminta Dress

Next up is the Araminta Dress, a new shift dress that’s perfect for upcoming holiday parties. This year, the Araminta Dress will be available in two styles, including Blackwatch Tartan ($150 USD), a fabulous plaid print (and one of my fave fabrics). It’s a heavier weight than other plaid fabrics so that it holds it shape better. Moreover, this style works perfectly with opaque black tights (only $15) and heels.

Additionally, the Araminta Dress will also be available in a Snowflake Brocade, which retails for $175. Brocade is one of my favorite fabrics as it’s super luxe and comfortable to wear in winter. In terms of styling tips, I highly recommend pairing this dress with their gorgeous Party Platform Heels and new Snowflake Earrings.

Best of all, both Araminta Dresses are machine washable. Just be sure to check out the care instructions!

Cordelia Dress

Rounding out the Hill House Holiday dress category is the Cordelia Dress in Red Tartan ($100 USD). This may be an unpopular opinion, but I don’t love this style. It reminds me of pajamas (gah!). Listen, I’m confident it’s gorgeous in-person, but it just doesn’t suit my personal style. You can’t win them all. 🙂

To be fair, the website explains this indeed doubles as a “cozy holiday nightgown.” But it’s just not for me.

The Winston Pant

In addition to fabulous holiday dresses, the Hill House Holiday collection includes separates, including The Winston Pant. Similar to the Araminta Dress in Snowflake Brocade, the Winston Pant will be available in the same fabric.

It also happens to be a new silhouette for the company. Based on m y research, it’s a pajama-inspired pants that are extremely versatile and a wrinkle-resistant crepe fabric. Love that! Additionally, they feature pockets, a zipper, a slight kick flare at the ankle. If that wasn’t enough, it’s an elastic waistband. Praise be! 🙂 Seems like the perfect pant for Thanksgiving dinner if you ask me.

The Hill House James Shirt

Lastly, it matches the new James Shirt ($125 USD), which also comes in the Snowflake Brocade. It also happens to be Hill House’s first-ever button down shirt. So good! Shoppers will find the shirt to fit true to size, and the silhouette is not overly fitted nor oversized. Just right! 🙂

Hill House Holiday Accessories

From jewelry to hats, and even winter gloves, Hill House has thought of everything. First up, there’s the Cashmere Hat, that’ll be available in either red or navy. There are also matching Cashmere gloves which work with the rest of the collection.

In terms of jewelry, they have a pair of Jewel and Pearl Earrings ($25), Tassel Earrings in Navy or Pearl Heart Cream and Gold ($35 each),

Last but certainly not least, the Pearl Ribbon Chocker (only $25). In fact, I plan to wear this necklace in the reverse way (pink bow showing in front with the pearls in back).

Hill House Hair Accessories

Another fun addition to this year’s holiday lineup is the Ashley Bow, a darling red hair bow that matches the majority of the Hill House Holiday collection. It’s only $25, and an easy addition to any cart. The Ashley Bow also comes in Black.

Finally, there are also two headbands, called the Alice Headband. I own a version from last year, and I love it. The fit is comfortable on the head, and it’ll be available in two versions – Blackwatch Tartan and Red Tartan ($50 each).

Violet Ruffle Sleeve Puffer Jacket

My favorite style of the Hill House Holiday collection, the Violet Ruffle Sleeve Puffer Jacket ($375). I’m obsessed!

So the Violet Puffer is designed to be a high-performance, technical puffer. It comes with pockets with zippers, and it has an adjustable strings to tighten at the waist. So smart!

Best of all, it’s made from GRS-certified recycled polyester, and it’s both wind-proof and water-resistant. The interior is filled with PrimaLoft Black Thermoplume, so it’s a cruelty-free down alternative insulation. Brilliant.

Hill House Holiday Collection

Hill House Holiday Knitwear

In addition to the cashmere hat and cashmere gloves ($75), there are also two sweaters, including the Ollie Sweater and the Cropped Sylvie Sweater ($125). I’m glad to see the brand offering up layering pieces, especially since the Nap Dress is not always conducive for cooler temperatures.

Between the two, I especially love the Ollie Sweater ($125), which has a beautiful bow detail and will layer perfectly over the Ellie Nap Dress in Blackwatch Plaid. I can also see shoppers styling it with the Tatiana Skirt ($95 USD).

Also, I love how they style the Cropped Sylvie Sweater over the Collector’s Edition Ellie Nap Dress in Pink Tulle with Pink Feather Party Platforms.

Tatiana Skirt

Speaking of the Tatiana Skirt, this Blackwatch Plaid mini skirt will be officially restocked in all sizes for today’s launch. The fabric is gorgeous! Basically, it’s a chic and timeless plaid with emerald green, navy, and black.

Similar to other Hill House Holiday styles, the Tatiana Skirt fits true to size. Feel free to check out the size guide here too!

The Millie Top

Another separate piece that will undoubtedly be popular? The Hill House Millie Top ($125). I adore this top in the emerald green lace, especially since it works well with so many pieces in my closet. They’re also bringing back the classic white lace version too ($125).

I adore the attention to detail, including the fabulous ruffle detail at the collar and cuffs and keyhole back closure, which makes it easy to pull over your head without getting makeup on it. Genius!

Hill House Holiday Party Platform Heels

Last but not last, let’s review the Hill House Holiday Party Platform Heels. Available in four versions, these towering styles bring a style to my face. As mentioned above, my favorite is the Blackwatch Tartan ($295), although the Black Suede Rhinestone version is pretty spectacular ($375), and perfect for NYE.

For a more subtle option, try the Red Tartan Party Platform Heels ($295) or Midnight Navy Velvet (also $295).
