A Recent J. Crew Try-On

J Crew Holiday Try On

Although the holiday season is behind us, it doesn’t mean we can’t still embrace elevated winter style, right?! As long as I can remember, I’ve loved the cold weather and party offerings from J. Crew. Recently, I ordered a few things that caught my eye in order to do a quick J Crew try-on and share what I loved, what I kept, and what I returned. In full transparency, if money were no object, I would have kept everything. However, I fancy myself a smart shopper. Plus, at this point in my life, I know what I truly need in my closet. I hope this helps – especially as sales season is just around the corner! In fact, they are offering 25% off full price styles and 50-75% off sale styles now through tomorrow!

So, I live for a monochromatic and a matchy-matchy moment.

Naturally, the idea of the two looks above made my heart skip a beat. To note, I didn’t keep any of them. I already own a silver pleated midi skirt, so the one here felt unnecessary for me. However, the style can be hard to find, so if you’re on the hunt for one – consider it! Since I sent the skirt back, the grey cable knit sweater didn’t feel needed. In terms of the plaid suit, I was super torn on this one. In fact, I considered wearing it to a PR event I had that week. Aside from something like that, I couldn’t think of where else I could wear the look this year. So, back it went. The blazer I tried on was the petite sizing – which I much preferred for this double-breasted style.

Next up on my J Crew try-on were a few keepers.

The black plaid ruffle-neck jewel-button popover was a no-brainer. In fact, Bob has the same plaid shirt in a men’s style from last year and loves it. Plus, the bejeweled buttons are darling. Additionally, I kept the navy feather-trimmed shirt. I own the same version in white, and I love it so much. The navy sequin skirt was sent back. It felt a bit short on me, as I was hoping for a true maxi length.

Surprise – another matchy-matchy look.

Like before, I struggled on figuring out where I would wear the look. Granted, I could have kept it and waited for an occasion, but it didn’t feed needed at the time. Lastly, this classic ivory cardigan. This also has the crystal buttons which I love. Plus, it’s a shorter length (hits at hip) than most of my other cardigans. Definitely a keeper!
